I Am Your Child!
I am a child of divorce. My parent`s divorce became finalized in 1969 when I was six years old. My mother was granted sole custody and my father never fought it.
I am writing this because I wish to see change. Change in a system that helped to alter my relationship with my father for the duration of our lives. Our lives, he being 600 miles away at 52 years old, seem all too short.
We started out fairly normal. I remember watching a football game with him, smelling my mom`s pot roast in the air, being carried around on his shoulders, waiting for him to come home from work. A father-daughter relationship firmly rooted for growth. Read the rest of this entry »
Night Terrors & Bad Dreams (Toddlers/Kids/Children)
Just a few minutes ago i witnessed Lewis having what at first i thought was a a really bad dream. i google “bad dreams in kids” (or something like that) to find the cause of bad dreams out of curiousity.
After reading one or two search results i found out that what he had infact had was a Night Terror not a really really bad dream…
A Night Terror is where a child wakes up screaming with her eyes wide open, when in actual fact s/he is still asleep. The child will suddenly sit up, usually sweating profusely, shout out loud for a few seconds, before lying back down and returning to a normal sleep. Read the rest of this entry »
Healthy Varied Diet: not so hard after all
untill recently well, not so recently about a year ago when i became the main carer of son i didnt know what a healthy diet was. i was going through the masses of paper work in my room when i came across some of the hand outs given to me in a Health and Nutrition class i took a few months ago.
