Feed My Son Proper Food

leave a comment »

Too often fatigue and lack of time conspire to ruin my son’s diets. He mostly eats well, but I would like to replace the nights in which He eats buttered noodles and graham crackers with a more nutritious and balanced meal. What I’m going to do is, at the beginning of every week, plan for our “tired” day, and prep a meal. Then, when I am to the point where I’d feed my son toothpaste for dinner, I can make sure he has a good meal that requires the same energy to prepare as a not-so-good meal.

HELP!: Screaming Toddler

leave a comment »

No one likes to hear anyone screaming, now imagine having to hear a screaming baby everyday… this isnt any ordinary scream, this IS a piercing scream!!

my son’s always had a piercing scream and has used it more often when he’s excited whilst playing around but untill recently and by recently i mean 4/5 weeks his began to cry about every little thing, stuff he never cried about before, his sock not being pulled up properly will cause ear piercing screaming and crying, someone touching his toys at the wrong time will cause the same effect and so will any other .

Night Terrors & Bad Dreams (Toddlers/Kids/Children)

with 2 comments

Single dad, sleeping bayJust a few minutes ago i witnessed Lewis having what at first i thought was a a really bad dream. i google “bad dreams in kids” (or something like that) to find the cause of bad dreams out of curiousity.

After reading one or two search results i found out that what he had infact had was a Night Terror not a really really bad dream…

A Night Terror is where a child wakes up screaming with her eyes wide open, when in actual fact s/he is still asleep. The child will suddenly sit up, usually sweating profusely, shout out loud for a few seconds, before lying back down and returning to a normal sleep. Read the rest of this entry »

leave a comment »

untill recently well, not so recently about a year ago when  i became the main carer of son i didnt know what a healthy diet was. i was going through the masses of paper work in my room when i came across some of the hand outs given to me in a Health and Nutrition class i took a few months ago.

for more nutrition information… tips, myths, recipes, labels and more i highly recomend the Food Standards Agency website.

Parenting Skills: Learnt OR Instinct?

Father and SonParenting… everyone’s got their own definition to it.

when i took over the care of my son a year ago the fear of failing him as a parent kicked in, i was so scared of not doing it right the first time round and turning out like my parents. for many years i’d promised myself to be a better parent than mine were to me. Read the rest of this entry »
